While seemingly basic, the French greeting "Bonjour" possesses a history extending back centuries. It wasn't universally used as a universal salutation but evolved slowly from its beginnings as a more formal phrase. Initially, it was chiefly reserved for noblemen. Over years, the use of "Bonjour" expanded within French society, eventually becoming
